New "Ladder of Development” & Elite Program for 2019-2020 Season

Navy Youth Hockey is excited to announce two new programmatic changes to enhance the development of our youngest players and provide opportunities for competitive growth in our 14-16 year old girls and boys cohort!

Navy Youth Hockey’s Ladder of Development will focus on long term player development with weekly skills clinics designed and taught by professional coaches. Every player enrolled at Navy Youth Hockey, irrespective of experience or skill level, will be afforded greater access to opportunities for skill development and training. This program is borne of our renewed commitment to the long-term player development model and our recent acquisition of additional ice time at the newly constructed second sheet at Piney Orchard Ice Arena. We will retain our ice at the Brigade Sports Complex but the new ice at nearby Piney Orchard will significantly increase our available ice slots.

Equally exciting is the launch of the first-ever Navy Youth Hockey Elite squads! Elite Program players will have the unique opportunity to be rostered on the most highly competitive boys and girls teams in NYH history.  These teams will have an enhanced on and off-ice training program coupled to a higher-level of commitment to programmatic expectations and a high-level professional coaching structure.

NYH remains absolutely committed to our legacy CBHL, CCHL and Rec league program and players. In no way are we abandoning our community-based mission to support all players interested in learning and playing this great game; we are simply positioned to add new ice time and are leveraging that ice time to offer new and enhanced programmatic offerings this year.

The information below offers a broad sketch of the new NYH Elite coaching & program structure for the 2019-2020 season.  Complete detail can be found in the document below.
